The Person Residing At Longwood

Accompanied by four of his generals, their families, a court jester and other staff, Napoleon heads for the remote Atlantic island of St. Helena.

Determined he won't repeat his first escape from exile on Elba, the British will guard the fallen emperor with two thousand four hundred soldiers, five hundred cannon, two war ships constantly circling the island and a governor intent on breaking the spirit of their captive.

Can Napoleon adjust to his loss of prestige, power and family? Will he find friendship, romance and peace? Or, as his first valet fears, is Napoleon on the verge of emotional collapse, will he experience further halucinations about his dead wife Josephine, can he outwit the island governor in a battle of psychological warfare?

A cd of excerpts from this show is currently on sale on St. Helena through the island's leading retailer Solomon & Co.
